Les Moontunes is an Acadian heavy-soul ensemble that has established itself as one of Eastern Canada's must-see bands, continually reaching out to other galaxies with its celestial soundscapes. Winners of the 2024 Music NB Innovator of the Year award as well as the 2021 Music NB Awards for both Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for their single “Paper Boat”, the group has distinguished itself as a unique act that pushes boundaries and maintains a strong artistic cohesion throughout its projects.
The group’s most recent album “Elephant Wizard”, released in January 2024, displays an expanded sonic palette and new levels of originality and maturity in their music. This evolution, guided by producer Mike Trask and encapsulated by recording engineer Thomas Stajcer, emphasizes the heavier aspect of their signature heavy soul sound. Their many influences are tossed in a progressive melting pot, resulting in a unique sonic identity.
The group has performed at numerous events following its 2024 album release, including the Montreal Jazz Festival, Festival d’été du Québec, RIDEAU, M for Montreal, and Acadie Rock which has solidified the band’s status as an innovative act in the East Coast music scene.

Grid City Magazine described their debut album as “a winning combination of thick grooves, poetic lyricism and originality.” The launch of their first studio album, Les Moontunes, was celebrated with Live on the Moon, an innovative live-stream concert that reached over 20,000 viewers, loaded with impressive musicianship and out-of-this-world animations.
Since their 2015 formation, Les Moontunes have performed at numerous venues across Eastern Canada. Appearances at the Halifax Jazz Festival, le Congrès Mondial Acadien, Acadie Rock, and the East Coast Music Association's showcases have solidified the band's status as an innovative act within the East Coast music scene.
